The only problem I have with your view of CRS is that this isn't a sudden cash flow problem or whatever other excuse he is using this month. This is a chronic--of at least 3 years--issue. And you KNOW that. You didn't just get off the turnip truck yesterday and find SOT. They clearly run up bills with abstractors until they reach the $3000-5000 mark and then move on. And as long as they have abstractors who are willing to accept slow pay as opposed to no pay, they will continue to work the system.
Hear ye, Hear ye!!! Slow pay IS NOT better than no pay. Sit down and write out how much you are owed and then how many hours it took to complete the search. This is our profit and what we run our businesses on. NOW, subtract the number of hours it takes to get paid--plus other expenses. Did you make ANY money? And even if you did, wouldn't that time be better spent finding new clients who don't take advantage???
Jay, I'm not even really responding to you. This is an issue that just frosts me!
