I would agree with your summary. The industry is passing the abstractor by...increased demands for service, outsourcing of work and declining profit. The money to be made no longer justifies the increased labor nor liability. It is becoming a dying craft. That is primarily why we exited from it last year to pursue more profitable endeavors.

Your post sounds rather pessimistic. Do not despair. Your experience is probably valuable and marketable in other areas also.
