Thanks for the advice.  I've read some of your postings about these candidates and some of the other problems that people in the rest of the country have had with on-line records.  For some reason, that issue does not seem to resonate as strongly with people here.  Our county and several others in the area have had records on-line for nearly a decade or more with very few complaints.  Either people aren't as concerned or they don't feel that complaining will get any results.  I'm sure once people in the state are targeted by criminals operating on-line, it will start to generate some concerns.

Fortunately the lenders in this area do not include SS#s on their mortgages which I think has been a big issue in many of the other counties where ID theft has been a problem.  I think the issue of protecting on-line records certainly should be part of any platform, but it doesn't seem to generate much interest here.  I have no idea why.  It may be that other counties have been easier targets so the criminals who use these record have left us alone for the most part.

Also, it may also be a difference in dispostion in this area.  Most of the time when I tell people about information relating to their property being on-line for the world to see, they usually ask me how they can look up what their neighbors paid for their houses.  People in this area seem willingly to accept the trade-off of a loss of privacy to a certain degree if they too can have access to the information.
