Kevin you are so right in your views, and thank God for this Country and the freedom we both have that allows you to share that view. However I pose some questions to you. Have you ever slept in the mud, sand, rain, cold or extreme heat while being reminded that you were there for freedom, no matter how it made no sense to you? Have you ever viewed first hand the effects of an enemy soilder and his RPG or IED upon your Brethren that is protecting that freedom? Have you laid in a ditch or a dug-out, scared of the unknown, but not being able to show it and knowing that every man there in the dark with you was scared also but you had a job to do so you sucked up and did it? Have you ever viewed a mortally wounded soilder, a brother and a friend, someone son, husband or maybe a father and thinkng you could very well be next? Have you ever felt the ground vibrate while trying to get a few minutes sleep with bombs falling around you? Do you close your eyes at night and live at al over again like a bad dream? I know this has noting to do with the first amendment, but BY GOD, the above is what keeps it in place. I do not like violence, I do not watch war movies, I do not have RAMBO in my movie collection, I do not own a gun, and I do not look for problems. For you to truly make a statement about the liberty's associated with the first amendment and how it shall not be infringed, walk a mile in my shoes first. I do not want you to take this as I am trying to berate you because we disagree, I am not. I just want you to know a little about what keeps that precious first amendment in place, the same first amendment that keeps the KLAN marching in the South, Phelps and his COWARDS showing up at Soilders Funeral, and the ACLU rolling us over. Freedom don't come free, it has a price and I gladly paid part of it for you as well as millions of others. Some paid the ultimate price, and I must have got mine on Lay-away because my limp gets a little worse each year. but you know what, I would pay it for you again without hesitation or second thought.
