Thank you for your rather emotional comments. I will certainly give them all the consideration that they are due.

However, no one is "flaming" anyone in public. It is a simple matter of seeking the answer to a question. Is it really too much to ask what provisions are being made to assure payment for services rendered? I think you will have to admit that there have been a large number of complaints lately made by abstractors who have had difficulties with non-payment.

With respect to "Manning up"...this thread was initiated in a public forum. It is not unreasonable to expect follow up questions to be answered in the same public forum. It is not necessary to "confront" anyone privately because there is no confrontation...simply the answer to a business question. Anything that can be said in a private telephone call can be discussed in public. I would think that there would be a number of abstractors that would appreciate the information in advance. Really don't understand why there is all this sensitivity to this dialogue.

As to your observation concerning my decision to do business with this new company...that would depend the the answers to the above posted questions. I have indicated previously that the volume of abstracting we currently do is limited to a select client list, and is linked to the closings we perform for these clients.  We have found that the money is in the closings rather than in abstracting alone, and therefore abstract as a function of the closing only.

I certainly wish Mr. Schutt good luck with his new enterprise.
