Sharon,
Best of luck in getting the money owed to you. I surely dont think $2400 is a small amount. Even if it were only $10, it is still money that you deserve and it is owed to you.
I couldnt agree more with what you said about their staff, but it is a troubling trend throughout our society. Many people have no conscience when it comes to their job any more. They will violate their own morals and any shred of decency as long as they get their paycheck. I recently had employees of a company outright lie to me about a payment issue. They would be furious if they were lied to and didnt recieve their paycheck, but it is ok to do it to me!! Would they stand for it if their company paid them six weeks late? Would they stand for it if they had to beg for two weeks to get their paycheck (after it is already a month overdue)? Would they stand for it if they never got paid at all? I think not.
Of course, people on our side dont seem to be much better. Some seem to care only if it affects them. They will come to a company's defense if it hasnt affected them (yet), but will be vocal if it is money out of their pocket.
I cut loose Contemporary over six months ago because of payment problems. I then saw recently that others have been having troubles with them. I felt bad that I didnt share my experiences here with everyone. Perhaps I could have helped others, such as yourself, avoid the troubles you are currently going through. I decided to share my experiences of a recent trouble I have had, so that others could have that information. After all, that is what this forum is for.
This was met with threat of lawsuit and abstractors coming to their defense. Personally, I dont care if it is my best client who always pays me on time, if I hear of others not being paid properly, I would like to have that information. I may still do their work and not let it affect my business relationship with them, but it may help me out down the line should problems ever arise. It may be the difference between me getting stiffed for $500 as opposed to $5000.
As I said before, best of luck in getting the money owed to you. I eventually did get what Comtemporary owed me. Hopefully you will too!!
