ValuAmerica has been doing this for a few years now.  We have had several discussions regarding them on this forum.  It appears from Shannon's email that their "technology fees" have increased.  A present owner search used to cost the abstractor $2.00 to receive.  Interesting that their fees have increased but the abstractor is suppose to stay the same or decrease their fees.

I have said this before but it bears repeating.  ValuAmerica "sells" their product to their Clients "Title Companies & VM Companies".  It is platform where the searcher types the report & transmits it to the client.  Their pitch to their client is.  We can get the abstractor to do all the work & pay for it too.  You don't have to pay anything.  The abstractor is told that they will be put into the ValuAmerica database & receive work from all their clients. 

I have a good client that subscribed to this a couple years ago.  We politely refused to pay to get work & would not type the report in for them without getting paid more.  We lost the client for a couple months.  Then all of a sudden they came back to us----giving us more work then ever & they are still one of our largest clients. 

Any abstractor that I have spoken to that has "bought " into this, has been very disappointed.  The platform that chooses the abstractor for the work is based on fees.  If you are the lowest, you will get the work. 

Do yourself & all abstractors a favor & don't buy into this SCAM.
