We finally made it home!  It was a long day, though.  Last night we re-scheduled for a flight through Chicago leaving at 6:15am.  Unfortunately, that plane had some mechanical problems too.  They tried for about a half an hour to fix it, then said that in order to make the necessary repairs they would have to shut the plane down and we would all have to get off.  Just as we started to get up, they announced that we should stay seated because there was a "security breach" and the terminal was locked down - we were not allowed to get off the plane.

After about another half an hour we got off so they could make their repairs, which took another hour and fifteen minutes.  By this time, we had missed our connecting flight in Chicago to Columbus (Ohio).  After we arrived in Chicago, they helped us get re-booked and we had to hustle to the next gate to catch our flight.

It all worked out! Well, almost.  My checked luggage got lost.  Slade, Jarrod and Kara all got theirs, but mine didn't make it.  They are supposed to track it down and deliver it to my home, but we will have see how that goes.

Even though getting home has been rough, it was still a great weekend (long one at that), and I am glad that we went.

Best,
Robert A. Franco
