I agree with you to some extent that some of the "locals" really want
to use their positions to feel the power and be in control,  BUT
after over 15 years of being expected to carry in for recordings,
copies of some pieces of **it from  some of  the national VM
companies and their banks customers, I can see why the local
clerks get at their wits end.  I have seen deeds presented that
listed the grantor as  ( Jon Smith, and wife if any).

From this can you please tell me the grantor's martial status?
I finally reached the point of charging them the same fee for
returning the docs as for recording, and now I see less mistakes.
