What I think is even more funny is that the customer, "borrower", boldly says to me that he doesn't have to pay the back taxes. The title company told him that the abstractor made the error, let them pay. I was blown away, no responsibility on the part of the borrower. Typical, not my fault, entitlement. If this had happened to me, I would expect to have to pay the abstract company back. But then again that's how I was raised. We do now have a disclaimer on our forms about taxes.
I am in the process of trying to place a lien on her property to get this money back. Any legal advice from Kevin or Robert on this?
