I hear you Mike, I know what you're talking about. I would like to address the comment about letting your bill run up to $11,000.

It doesn't take a long time for it to run up that high. If a new client gives you tons of work you're happy to get it. We've had clients send us up to $6000 in new work a month. Then you hope that you get paid. Most do, we've been fortunate. However, Mike and I work for some of the same people and they have burned both of us to the tune of about $12,000 combined. He knows who I'm talking about. Sometimes I wonder about asking for a retainer fee from a new client. How does the forum feel about that? Just a thought. I'm sure that no client would go for it.
