I am glad that they were able to find someone to help them.  As for your fee, I'm not sure what would be considered fair and reasonable for genealogy research.  I have never done anything like that.  I think, if you are happy with $20/hr, then that is probably a good price.  I don't think it should cost as much as title searching because there isn't as much liability involved (we figure $40/hr for title work).

My only word of advise would be to discuss the fee with your client in advance next time to make sure they understand what it will cost them.  Someone who knows about this type of research may find it quite reasonable, but a layperson may think its outrageous. Its all about perception.
