Ronco's Annotated Abstractor's Training Guide:

1. Must be right out of high school.

2. Must cut costs to secure massive amounts of business, even when working at a loss.

3. Be too proud to pull a book, because god knows the computer index can't be wrong.

4. Must understand in order to save time, it is easier to say not of record, than actually read the document and do the due dilligence.

5. Must know that tax maps are simply there for people that can't read and just because it shows a chain is like cheating on a test. Besides, if it doesn't agree with the computer, than the map must be wrong and that makes more work for you.

6. Must not ask older more experienced people in the recorder's office a question, because you will look stupid. And god knows all those old Abstractors and Examiners are meanies.

7. Must understand that a little difference in legals descriptions isn't all that bad as long as your supervisor doesn't catch it.

8. Must know to call in sick immediately and go home if you run into a partial release or assignment of trust.

9. Must understand a marketable title search shouldn't take more time than it takes to transcribe the index from the computer.

10. Copies are only if you are too tired to write anymore.

11. Must think you will eventually know all there is to know about abstracting.
