SERVICE SELLS:  "Costs of doing business" vary from ink to gas.  When your service is impeccable and your product is sound, increasing your fees to offset the ever rising "costs of doing business" should not be an issue to a sound title company.  We want the searches back quickly, however, we would gladly pay five to ten dollars more per search to insure a quality product in addition to keeping our abstractors productive, happy and loyal.  I say put it out there, stand firm and be careful not to compromise the integrity of your business for any one particular client.
