As a prior JUDGMENT SPECIALIST working with a car dealership. One of our customers who bought a car from us filed bankruptcy, after we placed a judgment on them. In Delaware once a judgment has been filed (depending on the court, whether JP or Court of Common Pleas) and that consumer files bankruptcy this judgment will be dismissed and we didn't get our money for the car --in fact we had to give the car back to the consumer after repossessing it and filing a judgment! All you need to do is ask any bankruptcy attorney about bankruptcies and judgment procedure. Remembering, every state has their own set of rules pertaining to judgments, However, the federal district court that handles bankruptcies are an entity of their own and usally the same rules apply for every state.
