We dropped our fax line years ago and it hasn't hurt a bit.  That's my recommendation:  don't fax. None of our clients want to fax - they're all used to emailing orders and receiving orders via email.  We all have to scan images and if we have to do that, then we can scan and email as opposed to scan and fax.  Same machine.

Finally, if you do decide to keep faxing, whatever you do DON'T GO WITH 8X8!!  OMG you can't believe the hell they put us thru.....
