I can't imagine doing what we do with the potential liability that we have  "without" any E&O insurance- it's like driving a car without any car insurance. You never know when something is going to pop up and it doesn't have to be something you did wrong either- might just be something close- and how are you going to afford the team of lawyers that will line up to start taking your hard earned abstract money. Be aware that coverage does not go back to when you didn't have coverage either- it is a brutal kind of insurance, very selective, so much so that even the E&O sales people don't understand what is and what is not covered , in my experience, that is. Just ask them to clearly define what a "claims made" policy is- You will be very surprised at that one.
