Florida is the same way.  We actually had one MAJOR customer call us a few months ago and ask us to cut our prices by over 50%!!  As they put it, "everyone else" is doing it and we should, too, if we wanted to keep their business.  I told them I had to speak with my partner and just never called back and we somehow continue to get work.  I think it was a scare tactic to see how we would respond - I'm sure there were abstractors that were shocked into saying "yes" and they're now making bupkus for their work.   Other customers have not been so faithful - one longtime, 10 year relationship is gone because we don't offer 30 minute turnaround for a full search.  Criminy.
