All of these problems most likely could have been avoided had you filed suit in Alabama. The amount of the suit sounds like it is in small claims jurisdiction, but is still large enough to compensate you for taking a day off to travel to Alabama to appear in court.

If you sued an LLC for contract breach ...under the law of most states... payment of your judgment would need to be satisfied from the assets of the LLC. It may take some time , but there is hope. Legal interest has accrued over 9 years and a $2,000 judgment has now grown into a $7,000 judgment.
