I don't think that it was David's mistake - the client faxed the order to him.  Despite the fact that it had someone else's name on it, they faxed it to two different abstractors.  Don't you think that when they faxed it the second time, they should have canceled it with the first abstractor?

Of course, hind sight is 20/20 - perhaps it would have been a good move for David to call the client and check with them, but I don't know that I would have necessarily noticed it either. Or that I would have bothered to call the client. I naturally assume that if they fax it to us, they want us to do it.

As for the distance David drove, you have to remember that he is in Texas; lots of sparsely populated counties.  I don't think his situation is comparable to what we have in most other states.
