All very true - however, the time and expense required to actually get paid the full amount on a debt of only $1000 or so would probably result in me actually recieving less than I would if I just let her pay what she feels like.  I took the easy road and let yet another company push me around.  It's really hard, not to mention expensive, to do the right thing.
