All I was saying is don't make yourself look bad. I want us all to look as respectable as we are. Being P'd isn't the problem. Yes, I have had that problem once and I lost everything I had with 2girls to support by myself. I was bringing in $11,500.00 a month from one supplier. Afterward they lost their contract to a better firm. Thank GOD. I don't want the lack of someone elses responsibility to bring us down. Someone else being the losers out there who don't pay there debt's so we can support our families. When we dwell on the problems it makes it hard, NO almost impossible to keep our minds on the real problem, Keeping our current good standing employers happy and providing the best work possible. Our work and our lives have a tendency to be nowhere near as rewarding or as complete when we have our minds on those who will one day wind up in the crapper with no way out. So I guess what I am really trying to get at is:
DON'T DISHONOR OR DISHEAREN YOURSELF OVER SOMEONE ELSES DISGRESSIONS, NO MATTER WHAT. KEEP YOUR HEAD CLEAR SO YOU CAN FOCUS ON THE ROAD AHEAD. CONSIDER IT A LESSON AND A SPEED BUMP AND MOVE ON SO YOU CAN MAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT THEM. KARMA ALWAYS HAS A WAY OF COMING BACK AROUND. There are plenty of credible companies out there that we can rely on as suppliers. Sometimes we have to weed out the bad crap to find the good ones. It is like dating. Sometimes we get fooled, but it teaches us to be more careful in the future. These are what we call life lessons. We all learn them. We all need them.
I am sorry if it felt like I was attacking anyone. I wasn't. I just want us to all keep our focus and not lower ourselves to there levels or lack of professional ethics that we have to hold on to dearly so that we stay credible and ethical if only so that we don't make the same mistakes they do.
I use the 2 month method. I do the work, I invoice the with the work, I send out a 30 day statement. If I don't get a check in 30 days after my statement, I don't do anymore work until I get a check. I also don't extend my work out more than $1000 for new employers (less than 1years woth of income.) This lets them know they can't screw me. I also kepp a safety net of employers so that there is no reliability on just one or two companies.
