Don't forget to bring layers of clothes.  It is expected to be in the 50's during the day and drop down to the 30's or 40's at night.  This, for us, is the coldest part of our winter.  Burrr!!  Bring your short sleeves. =)

From mapquest it appears that the hotel is in the heart of the French Quarter so walking around will be a must.

World infamous Bourbon street one block down with adult beverages and adult entertainment.  You're bound to be shocked within two blocks.  (Within one block at night when thngs get really sleazy.)

Antique shops two blocks down on Royal.  (That's my cup of tea)  Speaking of tea, there is a high tea served at a world class boutique hotel called The Windsor Court only a few blocks away.

Only three blocks to outdoor markets at Jackson Square and Cafe' du Mondes for beignets and cafe' au lait.  There are artists and performers to watch all around the square.  If you take the side streets you will see everything from VooDoo shops (real ones) to kite shops, angel shops, old books, civil war memorabilia and anything else you can think of.  And the food.  Oh the food!!

Prefer upscale shopping?  Walk to the mall along the banks of the Mississippi River and then after shopping you can cross the street to Harrod's Casino.  Free drinks!!  Great buffets!!

Oops!!  Don't miss the conference activities!!  I guess you'll have to stay through Monday to get some extra sight-seeing in.  But with everything so close you can really see a lot in very little time.

Get those last minute deals on flights and come on down and play.
