Hello All,

I have been working as a researcher of one type or another for a few years now, mostly doing some type of glorified document retrieval.  I have done some studying etc on abstracting but never really devoted the time to learn the trade in full.  Im now considering possibly going that route.   I know there are book and courses etc out there on abstracting as well as a course at my local community college that could give me training, but as we know there is nothing like doing the real thing.

My question is, in your opinion, is this a profession that I should even consider getting into now?  What are you thoughts?
