I found your company on Source of Title. We are currently looking to expand our abstractor base in California . We do an extremely high volume of Full Searches out of all the counties in California . We are currently looking to place about 20 new orders and are searching around for the best fees possible. Here is what our searches require:
REO FULL SEARCH- standard years back for you states requirement
1. Please provide copies chain of Deeds (including any probate and partnership or “corporate-type” documents showing name changes, mergers, etc of the vesting owner) chain must go back 40 years.
2. Need info pages of open mortgages (1st, amount, legal, signature, recording pages), to include full copies of any and all related documents.
3. Need copies of any Easements, reservations, CCR’s and UCC’s- THESE MUST ALSO BE LISTED IN A REPORT.
4. ALL LEASES AND ASSIGNMENTS- Please check for any leases filed on this property and provide full copies of any found.
5. Need Tax Info and Land and Building Values, Tax ID#
6. Need copies of all liens, including Federal, State, Tax, Mechanic’s and other statutory liens and judgments
7. Current Indexing date:
8. COPY OF TAX PRINT OUT, PLAT MAP AND RECORDERS INDEX
**MAKE SURE TO PULL ANY EASEMENTS FILED UNDER ALL OWNERS OVER THE PAST 40 YEARS.
Give me a call in the morning or shoot me an e-mail. I can tell you that anyone that gets as close to a fee of flat $50 can expect to receive around 40 or more searches a week. So if you are considering your fee to be around there, please let me know if you can handle that kind of volume.

Well I did send her our rate sheet and she saw that our full search was no where near $50. She never even contacted me again. Personally I think this is to much work and liability on our part to accept this fee. I also do trust companies who come in fast and heavy when companies have been in business for decades are struggling. For those of you working I hope you keep them on a very short leash
