I feel for you in putting your dog down. We too just a month ago put our Akita, Phoenix, down. She was suffering from SA which is a genetic skin problem with Akitas. We tried everything even the homeopathic remedies. She had been on a steriod for over a year and it really wore her body down. It was very tough on our family. My opinion is a pet is a family member and you make a commitment when you take on that responsibility. Again, Kevin, we may not agree on politics but I've got your back on this subject 100%.

Akita's are awesome dogs that's for sure. I could do without the shedding and the animal agression but my family really misses her.
