Robert: It would have been helpful if you had mentioned that by running them in the index included the all important tid-bit about any lien that might attach-then the IRS liens would show up- but just requesting someone to run them in the index from time "x" does not involve everything one can infer from your question. I stand by my answers as they were correct for the questions- the only question that was title related and brought in more complete title searching was # 2, and there running them in judgments was involved for the entire 20 yr time frame- even though IRS judgments expire automatically after 10 years, that does not involve re-filling which needs to be checked too.
The question was a good exercise though- makes one think about the "how's and why's" of doing what we do- and attention to details( what the questions asked-not what we read iinto them).
