Who is requesting this fee? ( not looking for names- but in what capacity do they have the right to request this kind of fee?) The "they" must be someone or some company that is making this request- and as such- do they really expect you  or anyone to consider this to be a legitimate request or fee? Like Scott mentions- maybe we could just add an abstractor locater fee to our searches too- we can locate, find and recommend an independent abstractor that can complete the job in no time!!
