The receiver does exactly what his name implies. He supervises the receipt of a company's receivables and payment of the company's debts. If more creditors than the plaintiff are owed money they submit their bills for payment, and the receiver will pay the bills to the extent that there are funds available. A problem may arise if the company is not doing well financially, but at least the payment of debts is supervised by someone without any personal interest, and funds are less likely to be diverted.
