It is extremely doubtful that you could run oil/gas work as an independent the way you are running as a MORTGAGE independent. All the o/g companies and brokers I know want to set you up at a county (paying all your expenses) and you work only on their project(s) (even tho you're not an employee -- you'd still be a sub-contractor). also, once a project ends, they'll want to send you elsewhere. (Hot spots are PA, TX, OK, MT, CO, SD right now.)
