I do alot of deed only orders for clients and have been for the last 2 years, generally they are easy searches and I charge my clients accordingly.

In New Jersey, its the law that a seperate tax search has to be done, I personally do not do these, but I know there are abstractors who only do the tax searches, and are making money doing so. We get taxes when we do a search, but the clients still should be ordering a seperate tax search.

I only do counties in NY and NJ that are not on line and will probably never go on line.

I agree with Dan, we have to make changes as things change in the industry.
