I have always charged mileage out of my home county. The IRS is allowing a 50.5 cent mileage deduction so far this year. I have been charging 50 cents a mile since right after Katrina hit and the gas prices spiked. If gas goes up to $4.00 a gallon, I fully intend to raise mileage prices again. We cannot continue to lose money driving all over creation to work. Everyone else in the world is charging a fuel surcharge. I send all my work out by UPS Ground, so I can track it and it will be delivered the next day, and UPS is now charging a fuel surcharge, so that is another fee. Of course, I charge my clients for this too. I don't eat any costs. Have a nice day, and drive safely.
