Has anyone else had a problem receiving payment from the new "The Closing Place, Inc" besides me?  I did a current owner search for them, then later updated and did the walk in recording.  From what I remember, they sent the deed without the checks needed for recording and I called them and they promptly sent those checks!  Billed them 10/7/7.  I have not been paid for this work and after numerous faxes have not rec'd payment.  I have called several times to no avail - have been transferred to "accounts payable", only to get voice mail and my messages were never returned.  On 2/10, I refaxed invoice with a note that a $25 late fee would be added if not paid asap.  I even emailed the "President" @ www.theclosingspace.com.  I did not receive a reply.  When this company was going under "First Merit", I never had a problem with them.   Last fax -  4/10 -  invoice with all my attempts to contact them; told  them that I would post a notice on SOT about their non-payment if they didn't respond to me.  Well, they haven't, thus my post.
