I normally try to check the chain of title. Again, this search was labelled as being for a modification agreement, not a refinance and they wanted it asap. They had to settle for a copy of a deed that was recorded around 100 years ago and the search being completed from 1/1/1931 forward as the courthouse in that jurisdiction currently has the indices and books for the period from 1/1/1903-12/31/1930 out for scanning.
