I have not read Perpich V. DOD, Supra., that is a fight between you and Scott.  I DO, however, have personal knowledge that my ex-husband (who was my husband at the time) was ACTIVATED BY THE NYS GOVERNOR on 08/02/90 to assist the ACTIVE DUTY AIR FORCE.  This was completely independent of the federal activation WHICH DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL 08/22/90.  Although 8 months pregnant with my son, I personally volunteered to assist the JAG office with activated members "get their civilian affairs in order".  No, I am not an attorney, merely a paralegal.  However, under the supervision of the JAG attorneys (their staff was only 4 who needed to assist 1500 members who were activated), I did assist and have the paperwork to prove it. 

You are absoltuely correct that the Constitution guarantees Freedom of Speech.  However, colloqually and in our current society, it is EVERYONE'S problem that politically correct speech is running our society and the consequences when someone is OFFENDED. 

I personally witnessed the politics in all of the Harvard campus, undergrad and post grad in the late 1970s.  My high school sweetheart attended Harvard ON A FULL SCHOLARSHIP based on academics.  It is all based on not what you know, but who you know.  If I remember correctly, Sen Edward Kennedy was expelled from Harvard, only to be reinstated because of connections.  Come on, Kevin, all Ivy League colleges are the same - who you know, not what you know, once you get there.  I had many friends who attended Ivy League colleges, both under and post grad.  Who is blowing smoke now?

You, my friend, are the one dancing around Obama's "meteoric" rise.  Scott and I are merely reciting facts as to the perception of weakness that follows him, which inevitably undermines OUR national security.
