It is a treat to see my ranting about Paperport is of some good to some- thanks Scott- and it looks like Nuance( the parent company for PP) is about to come out with a newer version- so version 11 might be offered at a discount soon also- the new versions usually go for about $199 for the pro version and$99 for the standard- (the pro allows for PDF conversion and some other stuff- I don't much know since I always get the pro)
As far as a phone system, I have used Vonage for the last year and am completely satisfied- unlimited calling anywhere- for about $40/month- the only draw back is if and when your ISP has problems- then you are uot of a phone- ( and I use Comcast- they are notorious for going off line)
