McCain's not the same as Kennedy or Feingold on any of those issues you mention.  They cooperated on compromise legislation designed to garner bipartisan support.  None of the legislation was very good with all due respect to everybody involved.

I agree with your last sentence, but I think you're making a distinction without a difference.
