You know it won't matter either way what they say. They will say one thing to you and me and turn around with a forked tongue and tell the other group exactly what they want to hear - just as long as you vote for me....in daddy Bush's famous words....read my lips no new taxes. Does anyone remember that??? I was just a glimmer in my daddy's eye (not even - born in 72) when we went to Viet Nam so I am only educated enough to get myself in trouble there but I do agree with the fact that one CAN NOT fight a politically correct war. I don't see how you can expect our boys to fight for something when they are getting shot at from across an invisible line they couldn't cross nor fire past. If I knew it would cause so much hurt I would contact my uncle who did 4 tours there with the Marines. I am sure he could enlighten us all to the truth but too many old wounds to open along the way.
Hopefully this war will not become - although there are comparison - another Viet Nam. We must finish the job (right or wrong) we started as everyone was so eager for revenge. Now that 7 years has past the need for revenge has subsided as everyone has forgotten the reasons we were told we needed to go there and ignore the real reasons we are there. Bush saw the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and what ever other targets they new about before the brave souls of flight 93 stopped it, as the answer he needed to get troops in there and if anyone happened to catch the The 9/11 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction or the documentary style show on the History HD channel last night called "102 minutes that changed America" last night you will know exactly what I am talking about. If you listen again to his speech after "supposedly" finding out about the attacks, he used the innocent lives lost to start this war and while I do agree we needed to do something about terrorism, I am not sure a knee jerking, shot from the hip, find out who did it later but we are going to say it was this guy, was the right approach. I also believe his words of revenge will stir in my brain for many years. Please don't take this the wrong way but I do believe these acts could have and should have been stopped - we need a new blog string for that tho.
We are one of the strongest nations in the world with a competitive edge on technology. How in the world do you not plan for this sort of attack in the scheme of National Security? Especially when you lose 3 planes of the rader. I know I will get a lot of flack for this and my continuing statements but in my heart I believe our leaders allowed this tragedy to happen so that they could go to war. I am still undecided on the theory that some with in our Govt. carried out or even planned such a horrible event. My brain prevents me from believing that but my gut says different. I will go out on a limb tho and say govt and military didn't do that much to protect us from it that is for sure. But, that is a whole other topic and getting back to my original point....it doesn't matter what they say, they will do what they want and as long as someone is stuffing their pockets - I mean contributing to their election - our small voice will never be heard.
