Kevin – So, you would not think it was berating if I referred to Obama as a drug addict – just making a statement of fact that he himself admitted.
I am equally mystified what Obama brings to the table – a community organizer? Is that like community organizer Rev. Sharpton who brought non-peaceful demonstrations to our streets in 1987 with the little liar Tawana Brawley – I know you remember that – I do – I was in the next town down from the protests in Newburgh, NY. Palin and her husband opened and ran a successful commercial fishing business, was on her city council, the Mayor of a small city, on the board of ethics for the State of Alaska pertaining to oil and gas and was elected as the Governor of Alaska, unseating the incumbent. Alaska may not be as populous as Connecticut, nor as cosmopolitan, but its border is only about 3 miles between Alaska and Russia’s Siberia, much closer than Florida and Cuba. What has Obama run or been responsible for? Being a founding member of Public Allies – the subject of the op-ed piece that Scott posted?
I don’t believe that Palin’s nomination was merely to appeal to disgruntled Hillary supporters. The stark contrast between Hillary and Sarah Palin is palpable. Hillary represents one generation – the woman who is angry and feels she must act like a man. Palin represents more my generation, albeit only a little more than a decade difference. We are grateful for those angry woman like Hillary and Steinam who initially cracked that glass ceiling, but our generation sure made some strides as well. The Democratic machine knows how to deal with a Hillary, but not a Palin, who embraces their feminity while still being tough as nails and accomplishing what we set our minds to do, even when we are told we can’t “cause we’re girls”.
As for delivering speeches, Obama does a very good job as well. But who’s thoughts are in his speeches? Aulinsky? Ayers? Wright? Or “Frank” as he mentions in his book, another radical left back from the 60s. The difference I can see between 1968 and 2008 is that many of the radicals from the 60s now are gray and may have more power, but they still want to overthrow the government.
As for chasing Bin Laden from one cave to another, perhaps if the prior administration had actually pursued him, rather than trying to indict him or sue him (like for the first time they tried to blow up the World Trade Center in 1993), perhaps we would not be in the situation we are now in as a post 9/11 world.
The economy in shambles – yes thanks to the prior administration who rode the coattails of the prior 12 years, had Obama involved in ACORN mandating that everyone should be given a mortgage, whether they could afford it or not, and of course, the sweetheart deals to the Democratic congressmen for their own mortgages to overlook what was going on with the mortgage industry. Guess the foxes were in charge of the hen house – again.
