I agree that legal representation is needed now more than ever before.  However, I don't agree that "they have no one but themselves to blame."  The title industry should be doing a better job of looking out for the consumers - consumers should be able to rely on the title industry to provide a better product.  This type of shoddy workmanship makes me embarrassed to say that I am a title agent.

The title industry really needs a positive public perception, but from the top down... this industry has eroded any public trust that once existed.  It is a shame.  These days is it hard to blame the media for the coverage we get.  Everyone thinks title insurance is a "rip-off;" and, we have title agents like this that makes it hard to explain otherwise.
