I know this is an older post but wanted to update.  I emailed said attorney in a professional and courteous manner as suggested.   It was brief but told him if I did not hear from him promptly I would have to pursue other options.  I also offered him payment options.  I heard from him the very next day and rec'd a payment of $500 the same week.  I am happy to say I received an email today that he had dropped the $1530 balance in the mail today.  I'm sure I will get it.  Thanks for the advice about how I should handle my situation in a calm and professional way.
