I think we as abstractors need to start asking these companies for all the information that they ask us for.  Their tax number so we can report them, and even if the change business names they will probably still run under the same tax key number.   Ask for 3 references just like they ask us for.  And maybe even a copy of their credit report so we can see how well they pay.
