Apparently he tried to cancel and was talked into a 5k "premium" program.  He speaks to a "mentor" twice a week on the phone and they assign him "tasks" like calling the tax commish.  Geez.  Another "task" is setting up his own company.  Oh, brother!  Perhaps he'll make a go of it - he's even switched to night shift at his well-paying day job to pursue this.  I could've helped him for free and at least, could probably find the program on ebay for practically nothing.  Oh well, I wish him luck.
