Hey Kevin, Dewey had a bigger lead over Truman then Obama has over McCain. I am not sure what Obama's tax plan is since I hear conflicting info from his camp ?? CNN did a comparison of his original plan vs McCain and said the middle class would get 1,000 vs 150.00 on McCains plan. Even if that happens It will not stay that way when Obama lets the Bush tax cuts expire. To give non-tax payers a refund when "they did not fund" should be called a hand out to 40% , a temporary tax cut of 850.00 over what McCain is going to 55% of tax payers and a tax increase where the sky is the limit on 5%, Not to mention business tax increase that we will then start to see more out sourced work then ever before. Even if the  best case scenario of his proposal happens it is not worth compromising our national sercurity where McCain is way ahead in the polls of most voters for  a mere $850.00 . By the time he puts his plan into action it will be a far cry from the best case scenario , less tax payers will benefit and more tax payers will be paying for his redistribution and socialist ideas.

John McCains bio is more impressive to me then Obamas. Before their political careers began McCain spent over 20yrs of his life fighting for our country 5 of which were as a P.O.A  where he could have been released earlier but did not since he put others before himself.

Obama is still a mystery to me in his early years. After he stopped using drugs and living on the streets, he cleaned up his act and went to college, I am not sure who funded his education since his mom was getting food stamps and any work he mentioned that he did he would be lucky if survived on it (another mystery). He did go on to become editor of the harvard law review right around the time there was an affirmative action program put in place, where prior years that honor was based on actual grades ( another mystery). He then worked as a paid community organizer along with many others and it does not appear he excelled at that but did befriend the convicted tony rezko.

McCain retired from the service and went on to serve in the us gov't for 26yrs

Obama went on to state gov't for 8yrs before being elected for us gov't for 4yrs which most of his time was spent running for president.

So I think McCains character in the early yrs trumps that of Obamas and his political experience trumps that of Obamas.

McCains friends of the last 20yrs are highly respected democrats , republicans, and service men. Obamas friends of the last 20yrs are not much to speak of. You can judge a man by the company he keeps. If they both had a party on the same day prior to running for president , McCains party would have many respectful dignitaries ,Where obama would have all of those he would later reluctantly distance himself from only because it affected his run for president. That party would have had Resko , Ayres, Rev Wright just to mention a few.

So when people tell me they are voting for Obama it just seems they must be drinking the Kool-aid.
