It's the same thing as a subcontractor putting a lien on property. The homeowner paid the general contractor, who didn't pay the sub. The sub. can put a lien on the property. We're in the same boat. We need to get paid. The "General contractor" already got their money on the HUD.
Plus if we miss a lien or judgment on a search who is responsible? Not the homeowner; we are! So it goes both ways.
