Well... its not like American journalists are doing a great job. Just take a look at the Martin Eisenstadt hoax. What every happened to verifying your sources before running a story?? There used to be a day that it didn't matter how sure you were of the facts - if you couldn't get two sources, it wasn't news. Now look... a couple of pranksters create a phony persona and MSNBC just starts quoting the guy.
This is what I was talking about in "Are Abstractors To Blame For Offshoring?" If we don't provide exceptional service... if we don't do it better than anybody else... you might as well get it done in India for half-price. Everything in this country has declined. You can't get decent customer service from anyone. Nobody really takes pride in their work anymore. Nobody stands behind the quality of the work. Everybody wants to sell you a bunch of junk so they can sell you the "extended warranty." Everything is plastic and disposable... if it breaks (I should say "when" it breaks, because it will), you are expected to throw it away and buy a new one. What is more sad... we accept that, these days.
I didn't think I was old enough to say this, but... "I miss the good old days!"
