MW - you said "What I don't understand is how a company can take such chances with the products that they sell. Is it because many are not insuring the product? Or that they take their chances on having to pay a claim? Whatever happened to pride in your work?"
What pride????? Not sure that anyone takes pride in their work anymore. I know we all do or we wouldn't be here on this web site promoting good work and the pride that goes with it.
I think some of them don't know how to do their jobs and therefore don't even know that they are taking such huge chances. Yes, that is right I said it. Not all Title people know what they are doing. I have seen some real shady things in the past and couldn't believe the title company went along with it. I removed myself from the job and made sure my name was no where near the deals in question. So, if one doesn't know how to do ones own job how can you expect one to know how others jobs should be done.
Pride seems to be a thing of the past - just like working for what you want and earning respect. So many youngsters today think it is their right to get what they want when they want it - not to mention the loss of respect for elders.....whole other subject !!
Examiners should stand behind their work and with the proper E&O should have no problem doing so. We are all human and error are going to happen but if you are going to be held personally responsible I will bet you will make sure the job is done right. Why should I care about the quality of the product if I have nothing to loose by giving you a pice of crap product. Obviously the examiners that the "letter" spoke of are still working. Why is that????? Because nobody cares anymore. The almighty dollar is all that matters
