Ed, I have reported an attorney before. Get all your correspondence together, all bills, late notices, and demand letters. Send this attorney a certified, return receipt letter, sign by addressee only, send a carborn copy to the Commission on Lawyer Conduct, P. O. Box 12159, Columbia, SC 29211 (phone 803-734-2038), make sure to send copies of all bills, etc. with your carborn copy. And make sure that you put on the original letter to this attorney, that you are sending a copy to the Commission. You will get your money. The Commission opens a file on every attorney that receives a complaint, and it goes to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court actually called me to see if I had been paid. The attorney told them a bunch of lies about not getting paid for my work if the loan did not close, and one had closed and I still did not get paid. The attorney at the Supreme Court asked how I knew this and I told him I went into the RMC records behind this attorney. Then I told the attorney at the Supreme Court that this guy was trying to blow sugar up his butt, to stay out of trouble. If you will look on the S.C. Supreme Court site and go under opinions, you will see that most attorneys who are disciplined or disbarrd did not do their real estate closing properly, or actually stole from their trust accounts. Hope this helps.
