Accusing me of down playing the sacrifice of American soldiers is offensive. I said no such thing. I agree they are heroes. Heroes, partly, for keeping their oath no matter what orders were issued by Bush/Rumsfield/Cheney. I don't think the soldiers who are now incarcerated for their actions at Abu Ghirab are heroes however. They are where they belong and the leaders who encouraged their actions and the torture of people should join them in prison.
We were not kept safe by invading Iraq and it was a waste of lives and money. And to think that any good news from Iraq is proof that this was a good thing for our country to undertake is baloney. Yes, everyone is glad that Sadaam is gone but was it worth the cost to our soldiers and our economy? NO!
My right to "stick up for and free the enemy combatants whose aim was to kill Americans"? Where do you get off attributing that statement to me? Putting words in my mouth? Are you proud of the torture that was commited in your name? How come so many of the enemy combatants have been set free? How can they now be prosecuted when the evidence was obtained under torture?
You right wingers lost the election. Americans have overwhelmingly rejected your illegal torture, wire tapping, rendition, immoral wars, etc.
I'm no big fan of Bill Clinton but I am offended when people make up lies to attack him. Bush did not protect us from a terrorist attack. Its a fact that perhaps you are not comfortible with but it is a fact.
