We ALWAYS not only include the start date and the thru date, we also include the actual time the ABS checked the indexes, I my opinion it limits your liability. Keep this in mind when you are making your decision. When you find an error in the public index and bring it to the attention of the clerk, most of them will correct the error immediately. The date and time of the correction can be electronically verified in an automated system. What if a few hours or even minutes earlier your search involved the index entry that was corrected? You would be covered by having the date AND time on your search report. This may seem extreme but think about what happens when things go wrong with a deal. Most of the time the first fingers that are pointed are in the direction of the ABS.
